What She Gained

Apr 1, 2022

Today we are joined by Danielle Bublitz to talk about all things diabetes. Danielle, MS, RDN, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in Intuitive Eating, binge eating, and Health At Every Size(R)-aligned nutrition therapy.

Danielle earned her bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from California State University at Chico and received her Master’s degree from California State University at Northridge while completing the dietetic internship program. Danielle is passionate about guiding her clients toward feeling more at peace with their food decisions and blood sugar management, and making peace with their bodies.

Danielle brings so many good facts and knowledge from a scientific-based perspective to our conversation. And really, I believe the message here is this…

  1. Lead with compassion
  2. Diabetes is not your fault; it’s not anybody’s fault.
  3. You can be an intuitive eater and manage your diabetes.

With all that in mind, listen in as we discuss:

  • Danielle’s journey with binge eating and being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 16.[3:17]
  • Basic description of different types of diabetes [7:08]
  • Reasons why it’s not your fault if you are diagnosed with diabetes. [10:50]
  • Fascinating fact = 30% of larger bodies will get diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, and 24% of thin bodies have Type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes isn’t a look. [14:10]
  • What to look for in a medical practitioner. [20:47]
  • Ways intuitive eating and diabetes work together. [25:18]
